Good Day, I am sure that everyone is aware that Governor Pritzker extended hisĀ ...

Welcome to Lyle Pre-K’s Remote Learning page. On behalf of the entire staff at Lyle, I want to say how much we miss our students! As we move into a new way of teaching, I want parents to know that we are not only working to provide learning experiences, but also looking forward to hearing from you and your children. Lyle Pre-K will be offering Remote Learning during the continued mandated school closure due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) pandemic. Remote Learning will be offered in two forms: Paper Based or On-line.

Both paper based and on-line learning will be provided through a weekly “choice board”.  This board is filled with a variety of learning activities that our Lyle teachers have carefully planned to provide fun and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. We ask that you choose 4 or 5 activities each day to complete with your child. We also ask that you keep in mind that preschoolers learn best through play-based activities. Play is a preschooler’s “work”. These activities should take around five minutes to complete and should be enjoyable for both you and your child.

* Paper-based learning: Learning packets will be delivered every Tuesday. Hours of delivery will be during district food distribution. (Approximately 9 a.m.-1 p.m.) Student participation will be counted for all students receiving paper packets.

* On-line Learning: If you are accessing the online packet, please complete the online participation form daily. Please submit the form each day by 3 p.m. Use the orange “Participation Login” button on Lyle’s Remote Learning page. *Please note: Lyle Pre-K students will not be receiving district Chromebooks. Although some of the activities require technology, we encourage you to limit “screen time” for your child. Children at this age learn best with real world, hands-on learning experiences. Please see below for the links you will need.

During this time apart, I encourage you to keep in contact with your child’s teacher. Feel free to ask questions, send notes from your child, or share photos of your child’s work! Communication is a key factor in Remote Learning. We want you to know that you are not alone and we are here for you!

If you have any questions, I will be available via email: 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Teachers will be available via email or Class Tag from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. If needed, please see Lyle’s page on the district website ( for staff email information.

I want to express how much we appreciate your support in continuing your child’s education as we move into a new way of teaching. Thank you for your continued support!
