Belle Students Get Moving and Grooving
Belle Alexander students enrolled in the Belle Brainiacs after-school program have been learning and exercising to the beat of their own drum in their STIX class. NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Co-Owner of Third Street Studio, Allie Mikenas, has been leading the young students in this class that fuses music and movement with the use of drum sticks. This exercise program helps improve focus, coordination, physical fitness, and teamwork. Students have been learning about tempo, rhythm, and physical fitness during the class all while moving, grooving, and drumming to the latest Kidz Bop tunes. Belle Brainiacs is a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant funded program provided through a partnership between the Kewanee School District and the Bureau, Henry, Stark Regional Office of Education.
