Kewanee High School Athletes Jendayia Crowe and Mekya Powe Set New Indoor Records at Rosenberry Meet.

Kewanee High School is proud to celebrate outstanding performances by two student-athletes who made history at the Rosenberry Meet held at the Westwood Center on April 2, 2026.

Junior standout Jendayia Crowe set a new Varsity indoor 60-meter hurdles school record with an impressive time of 10.22 seconds, breaking the previous mark and securing her place at the top of KHS history in the event. Her performance now ranks #1 on the KHS Top 10 indoor all-time list for the 60m hurdles.

Adding to the excitement, Mekya Powe delivered a remarkable performance in the Freshman/Sophomore indoor 60-meter hurdles, breaking the school record with a time of 10.98 seconds. Her achievement places her 3rd all-time on the KHS Top 10 indoor list in that event.

These accomplishments reflect the dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit of our student-athletes. Jendayia and Mekya continue to raise the standard of excellence at Kewanee High School, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.

The Kewanee Community Unit School District 229 family congratulates both athletes on their record-breaking performances and looks forward to continued success throughout the track and field season.
