Teachers Amy Miler and Alicia Ralston Earn State Recognition for Excellence and Service
Kewanee Community Unit School District #229 is proud to announce that two of its educators have been recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education for their outstanding contributions to education. Their success was recently celebrated at the ISBE Teacher of the Year and Those Who Excel banquet awards ceremony and banquet held in Bloomington, IL.
Amy Miller received the Award of Excellence, the highest level of recognition in the Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program. This honor is awarded to educators who have demonstrated a commitment to equity, collaboration, and student success while fostering a positive and impactful learning environment.
Alicia Ralston was named a recipient of the Award of Meritorious Service, recognizing her significant accomplishments and dedication to supporting student growth and strengthening school culture.
Both educators exemplify the mission of Kewanee CUSD #229, “Inspire the Mind. Honor the Heart.” Their work reflects a deep commitment to students, colleagues, and the broader school community.
