KHS Life Skills Program

KHS Life Skills Program

The Kewanee High School Life Skills classroom is made up of students with a variety of special needs including multiple disabilities, physical disabilities, Autism, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments. Students range in age from 14-22 years old. In our classroom, our main focus is on functional academic skills, employment skills, daily living skills, and community participation all in preparation for life after graduation (up tp age 22).

Our class holds a number of fundraisers throughout the school year: greeting card sales, Christmas cookies, herb garden planters, t-shirt sales, bake sales, and a school store to fund our many community outings and to purchase small items needed for the classroom.
