The Kewanee High School Life Skills classroom is made up of students with a variety of special needs including multiple disabilities, physical disabilities, Autism, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments. Students range in age from 14-22 years old. In our classroom, our main focus is on functional academic skills, employment skills, daily living skills, and community participation all in preparation for life after graduation (up tp age 22).

Our class holds a number of fundraisers throughout the school year: greeting card sales, Christmas cookies, herb garden planters, t-shirt sales, bake sales, and a school store to fund our many community outings and to purchase small items needed for the classroom.

Life Skills Trivia Night Fundraiser - August 13th!

Come Test your Trivia Knowledge!

Hello Everyone!

We certainly hope you are all enjoying your much needed summer break! Our Life Skills program has been raising money for a new hands on employment curriculum that we believe will truly help our students. We have received some grant money and a few donations through a Go Fund Me page. We are hosting a trivia benefit on August 13th at The Colony Inn to further our progress towards this curriculum. I have attached a flier to this email with the details of our event. We have several ways you can help if you are interested.

1. Come to trivia night with a team and enjoy the fun!

2. Donate silent auction items for our event.

3. Not a fan of trivia? Come and bid on silent auction items and watch as it's a lot of fun to watch the teams!

4. Visit our gofundme page!

Thank you to everyone for your continued support! We have had so many of you order from our various fundraisers over the years and this truly helps us to provide our students with the community experiences they need. We really feel like we have the best district to house our Life Skills Program. The staff and students show so much love and compassion every day! We cannot thank you enough!
